KESA continues to shape a more connected and forward-looking economic community, bringing together students, institutions, and industry to engage on issues that directly influence Kenya’s growth trajectory.
At the Economics Summit hosted by MMUESA, KESA President Spencer Muhonja contributed to a plenary session examining how innovation and digital transformation can expand job opportunities for the youth.
The discussion focuses on how technology can be applied to unlock enterprise, improve productivity, and create sustainable pathways for employment.
The conversation also addressed on weak accountability frameworks, and the continued misuse of public resources as a key constraint to economic stability.
In the discussion, there was a shared view that without discipline in governance, progress in innovation and policy will struggle to deliver tangible results.
In her remarks, Spencer Muhonja reiterated that. “Without strong governance and accountability, progress will remain uneven and outcomes uncertain.”
KESA was represented by a delegation including Secretary General Mark Gitau, Organising and Legal Secretary Michael Awimbo, Doreen Williams, Charity Biketi, and Shuler Achieng'.
The summit also convened stakeholders from key institutions, including KRA, KASNEB, and ABSA Africa, affirming the importance of coordinated action across public and private sectors in shaping a stable and resilient economy.
We commend the MMUESA leadership, led by Chairperson Dominic Amosi for the work put into bringing this summit together. The quality of conversations and organisation reflected strong intent and attention to detail.
We also acknowledge the administration of Multimedia University of Kenya for supporting a space where such timely and relevant discussions can take place.
