KESA Executive Council paid a courtesy call to the National Bank of Kenya's Managing Director, Mr George Odhiambo at their Headquarters offices in Nairobi,

The meeting centred on exploring possible areas of collaboration in support of our members

With the immese opportunities within the Bank’s disposal. 

The Council expressed interest in aligning with Bank’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Project, 

An initiative that equips students with research skills and real-world exposure. 

KESA proposed to support the initiative through student mobilisation, outreach activities, and jointly hosted mentorship sessions.

In addition, KESA welcomed the Olympiad programme, 

A personal initiative of Mr Odhiambo that introduces high school learners to foundational economic knowledge. 

Noting its value in nurturing future economic thinkers from an early stage.

KESA expressed its interest to collaborate on this programme by supporting its expansion.

And tapping on its member network to reach more young learners. 

Further discussions centred around:

  • Co-hosting national conferences involving students, professionals, and industry leaders;
  • Mentorship and shadowing opportunities to strengthen students’ practical understanding of workplace environments;
  • Employment considerations, including structured internship, attachment, and volunteer programmes that support students’ transition into the job market.

Mr Odhiambo commended the Council’s clear focus on impact and reaffirmed his support for student-centred initiatives. 

KESA remains committed to forging and sealing partnerships and MoUs with like-minded institutions. 

And reputable individuals like Mr. Odhiambo who share a common vision of empowering young people.

Present were KESA President Marion Wachia and Deputy President Spencer muhonja
