KESA convened a partnership discussion at the Nairobi offices and headquarters of Insight Sphere Ltd at Hazina Plaza on 9 January 2026. The meeting focused on a proposed collaboration aimed at strengthening applied research and analytical skills among our members across our member institutions in the country.

Insight Sphere Ltd operates as a consultancy within Nairobi, Nakuru, and the surrounding areas. It works closely with universities and colleges that focus on capital analytics, data analytics, applied research, MEAL, and systems development. The firm grounds its work in linking academic training to real policy and development problems that demand evidence and clear reasoning.

Through this partnership, KESA seeks to expand pathways for members to conduct applied research that speaks directly to economic policy and social issues. The emphasis rests on research writing that informs public debate, including position papers, blogs, and conference submissions. This approach will move our members from theory to public engagement based on evidence.

The engagement also places a strong focus on building practical data analysis skills. KESA members stand to gain exposure to commonly used analytical tools that support research, policy work, and professional readiness. This responds to the gap between academic training and applied analytical demand.

Speaking at the meeting, KESA Deputy President Spencer Muhonja said, “KESA exists to sharpen how young professionals think, write, and question policy. Any partnership we pursue must strengthen that purpose and give members real tools to engage Kenya’s economic challenges.”

Also present were Mark Gitau, KESA PPRD Director, Spencer Sachida, KESA delegate from the University of Nairobi, and Denis Katingi, KESA PRM Chairperson. From ISL were Erick Otieno, CEO, and Dorcas Nyaki
